Santa Monica College Rampage, 5 Men's Dead

The Santa Monica police department 0n Friday night reduced the death toll from a rampage on the streets of the town.

A police spokesperson aforesaid at a news conference that four victims, and the suspect, were killed. At an earlier news conference, the policeman said six victims had died.

Officials said the discrepancy occurred due to conflicting witness accounts. They added  that one among the wounded remains in critical condition.

The police also said they currently believe the alleged gunman acted alone which a person detained earlier today wasn't involved in the rampage.

The two bodies found !n a burning Santa Monica house – the start line in the rampage – are believed to be the brother and father of the gunman, law enforcement sources told the times.

He was killed by officers at Santa Monica college. Police don’t find a motive f0r the shootings. The sh00tings and fire seem to have stemmed from a family dispute, but the w1tnesses aforesaid police are still unsure what happened.

Santa Monica police captain Jacqueline Seabrooks described a vi0lent shooting rampage that seems to have begun in the 2000 block of Yorkshire Avenue just before noon.

The gunman then moved t0 Pico boulev4rd, firing at cars and different targets.

One person died at Cloverfield and Pico boulevards; 2 died at nineteenth Street and Pico boulevard. Another girl died at a hospital.
The gunman fled to Santa Monica college, where he was pursued biy p0lice. He shot a girl on campus and ran into the library, where he continuing to fire rounds from h1s assault rifle.

Police's sh0t and killed the gunman on campus. He has not nonetheless been known, but police described him as being twenty five to thirty years old.

Santa Monica college and every one colleges in the town were placed on lockdown.

The shooting rampage sent Santa Monica into ramp4ge -- just as President Obama was attending a fundraiser some miles away.

Stephen Bell and h1s classmates were preparing f0r his or her final tap dance performance once 2 girls ran into their schoolroom next to the campus library.

They aforesaid they'd just seen a girl getting sh0t in the library.

"When she said that word -- shot! -- we tend to straight off shut the door, lay down on the ground and turn 0ff the lights," Bell said. "I was thinking, 'Oh my god, columbine highschool. very first thing that crossed my mind."

Joey Letteri, the tap teacher, was running a couple of minutes late and was walking to class from his office upstairs. once he got to class, the door was closed and also the lights were off.

"I thought it had been a surprise which the class got for me" he said,

Letteri led the class through a meditation and told them t0 keep quiet. They tried t0 calm the 2 female students down; one could not stop throwing up, Letteri aforesaid, and also the other was crying and shaking.
